Therefore, first, the steel-reinforced foundation slab with a diameter of 2.5 meters and the nearly 1.90-meter-long half wine barrel on top was created. The upper half of the barrel serves as the base for the actual cat sculpture. The three steel reinforcements for the tail and legs were cast into it, each consisting of a 70 mm outer pipe, an inserted 50 mm inner pipe, and an inserted 20 mm construction steel rod, which were all cast together. After constructing and processing the legs and tail, the steel-reinforced body block was assembled and subsequently worked on. The surfaces consist of a black or dark brown colored cement coating. The gray base area still visible in the photos will be covered to resemble the core of a Mosel-typical vineyard, from which this Zeller Schwarze Katz welcomes visitors.
