Fishing

in the Mosel

The Mosel is a true paradise for anglers with its rich fish population. You can fish in many places along the river. Pike, perch, chub, barbel, bream, carp, roach, trout, eel and tench make up the majority of the fish stock. A valid fishing permit is always required.

You can also catch big fish with a small hook.

To obtain a fishing permit, you must have a federal fishing licence. After passing an appropriate examination at their local municipal administration, German citizens receive the fishing licence. The Zeller Land holiday region's foreign guests do not have to take an examination in advance. They can obtain the Zell (Mosel) municipal administration's fishing licence upon presenting a passport photo and identity card. On presentation of the fishing licence, a fishing permit can be purchased at the relevant sales outlets in the Zell region.
