Moselsteig & Saar-Hunsrück-Steig

Hikers and wine lovers meet in the Zeller Land holiday region. With the Moselsteig and the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig, two of the longest and most beautiful German hiking trails lead through the forests, meadows and vineyards of this unique wine-growing landscape along the Mosel and in the Hunsrück. Both trails offer guests an extraordinary experience in almost untouched nature.

Only where you have been on foot, have you really been there.

The Moselsteig takes you along scenic vineyard paths, past historic castles and through romantic valleys. A total of 24 stages over 365 kilometres link the route from Perl to Koblenz. Three of the stages run through the Zeller Land holiday region. To the river's left and right, the various stages can be combined with fantastic circular walks. The side trips "Briedeler Schweiz" and "Felsen.Fässer.Fachwerk" combine hikes into the Mosel hinterland with breathtaking views of the Mosel bends and exciting insights into the cultural background of the region.

The Saar-Hunsrück Steig leads along varied hiking routes and natural paths, past historic castles and exciting rock formations. A total of 27 stages over 410 kilometres link the route from Perl on the Mosel via the Saar and Hunsrück to Boppard in the Middle Rhine Valley. Three stages take hikers through the Zeller Land holiday region. The Saar-Hunsrück Steig stages can be combined with wonderful circular hiking trails to the left and right of the trail. In the Zeller Land region, the "Layensteig Strimmiger-Berg" and "Altlayer Schweiz" dream loops offer hiking a pleasure for everyone.
