The mosaic was created by the artist Monika Nicolay-Bolle from Zeltingen-Rachtig and was presented to the public on December 6, 1999.
Shown are: the coat of arms of the city of Zell and its three partner cities (Antoinig, Triptis, Crépy-en-Valois), the landmarks of the city (Round Tower, Square Tower, "Black Cat" Fountain), the Moselle loop, the Hunger Cross, the Executioner Cross, depictions from Roman and Celtic times, the completion of the city fortifications in 1229.
