Schauren

Deceleration and nature

The local community of Schauren is situated in a natural environment in the Hunsrück on the southern slope of a valley sink. The parish is connected to the surrounding villages by the "Kirchspiel-Wanderweg" (parish hiking trail). It offers numerous opportunities for short and long hikes. The Saar-Hunsrück Trail also runs directly along the village. In the village centre, there is a lovingly restored half-timbered house from the 18th century, which reminds us of the village's rural origins. The chapel in the village was built in 1796 and consecrated with the patrocinium "Maria Königin". North of Schauren, on the village's outskirts, there is a small chapel built around 1880. It is still the destination of many believers today.
