Reidenhausen

History that can be experienced

Reidenhausen is situated on a ridge in northern Hunsrück and is ideally connected to the surrounding villages by the "Kirchspiel-Wanderweg" (parish hiking trail) for short and extended hikes. From the Thonhügel, a former Celtic burial site, hikers also have a magnificent view of the Eifel, the Hunsrück and as far as the Koblenz Rhine basin.

The daughter church in the village is dedicated to the Mother of God and was built in 1952 on the site of a 300-year-old chapel. The 300-year-old tuff altar from the workshops of Maria Laach was taken over, as was a 350-year-old stone-carved pieta and a bell that is around 100 years old.
