Premium circular hiking trail with extraordinary experiences, dreamlike views, and beautiful scenery.
From the Roscheider Hof open-air museum, the hiking trail leads through the district of Roscheid and further over a narrow rustic forest path, called root path due to its many roots (caution when wet: risk of slipping!). The trail passes through the brook valley to the vineyards of Niedermennig with wonderful views into the Konzer valley, which was still an oxbow valley of the Mosel more than four million years ago. Further through forest area, vineyards, and open meadows, the Roscheider Plateau is reached. From there, an impressive panoramic view over Trier to Luxembourg is offered.
Extraordinary experiences with dreamlike views along the trail include the imposing giant chair in the middle of the vineyards and the sky swing, where you can swing relaxedly. The large landscape frame directs the view to the confluence of the Saar and Mosel and provides a beautiful backdrop for the final photo stop.
After the hike, the tavern of the Roscheider Hof invites you to a strengthening meal. Opening hours at www.wirtshaus-roscheiderhof.de
Over a total of 7.2 km, the premium hiking trail runs variedly over the shady root path, through the Konzer Bachtal, the vineyards of Niedermennig, through forest, open meadows, and across the Roscheider Plateau. At three points, the Konzer Höhenrunde surprises with special “eye-catchers” installed along the route that increase the experiential value. Above the Falkensteiner Hof, between forest and vineyards, there is an oversized bench where you can sit and enjoy the view into the Konzer valley. Two more “eye-catchers,” which also invite you to photo stops with extraordinary motifs, are located on the Roscheider Plateau. A large landscape frame directs the view toward Wasserliesch, the confluence of the Saar, and Trier. And in a sky swing, you can rest wonderfully while looking into the Konzer valley and across Roscheid. The panorama board next to it explains which places can be seen.
After the hike, the tavern of the Roscheider Hof invites you to a refreshing meal. Opening hours at www.wirtshaus-roscheiderhof.de.
