Lourdes Grotto in Blankenrath

Passing the parish church, on an economic road towards Hesweiler, you get to the Lourdesgrotte. Am 3. The cave was solemnly inaugurated with a procession of lights on 1 June 1974 (People’s Monday). The statue of the “Mother of Lourdes” was originally in the parish church. Every year the “Lourdesgrotte” is the target of the Corpus Christi procession. The path to the cave has been equipped with 14 crossroads. They are bronze panels that are mounted on basalt columns. The inauguration of the cross took place on the 19th The meeting was held on 1 November 1978.
