We offer a barrel staves tasting where you can choose 4 wines of 0.05 L each from our wine list to discover the variety of Mosel wines. In addition to Riesling from the steep slopes of Zeller Burglay-Felsen, Merler Fettgarten Königslay-Terrassen Stephansberg and Adler, we also cultivate Kerner, Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau, Grauburgunder, and the red variety Dornfelder on hillside locations. We offer wines of all quality levels, from quality wine to ice wine and beerenauslese. Additionally, we have sparkling wine, Mosecco, de-alcoholized Riesling, and our own grape juice.
Master vintner Silvia Steffens-Durm works with her team 17 times on each vine, and all grapes are harvested by hand.
The family has been growing wine since 1648. The Ernst Steffens winery was taken over in 1984 by master vintner Paul-Werner Steffens from his father and transferred to daughter Silvia in 2015. The wines are aged in the 250-year-old vaulted cellar in large oak barrels and stainless steel tanks to create fruity wines.
We also offer commented wine tastings with a film about the work in the vineyard and cellar tour for 2 to 20 people every Tuesday at 4 PM and by appointment.
