Edward is a writer in his mid-thirties who is finally on the verge of his literary breakthrough. If only his mother, with whom he lives and whom he lovingly cares for, weren't in the way. This strong-willed lady has a disarming charm – and her very own ideas about living together with her son. And then there's Edward's publisher, who wants to send him on a big reading tour in the USA. The last thing he needs right now is his best friends, who spontaneously set off for a Pride vacation in Spain and drop their mothers off with him. Over a turbulent weekend, Edward must balance his rising career with the care of four eccentric, quarrelsome, and completely different ladies. This heartwarming and loving comedy by Darren Thornton – inspired by the acclaimed Italian film "The Feast in August" – follows an unconventional chosen family learning to embrace life in all its facets.
