The cellist Benjamin Schwartz, acclaimed by the Boston Phoenix as an “elegant, accomplished musician” and praised by the Boston Globe for his “pronounced, theatrical intensity,” performs as a chamber musician and soloist on numerous stages in Europe and the United States. Alongside his career as a cellist, Ben is responsible for the artistic planning of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (BRSO) and works closely with its chief conductor Sir Simon Rattle. Prior to this, Benjamin Schwartz was the artistic director of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Administrator of the Saito Kinen Festival. He began his administrative career as the deputy artistic director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
