Circular hike through forest and vineyards around the district of Zell-Barl, with wonderful views of the Moselle Valley.
Right at the beginning of the hike, you are already spoiled with magnificent views of the unique wine-growing landscape in the Zellerland. The hiking trail goes through forest and vineyards once around the district of Zell-Barl. When exploring the Moselle from all directions, you will be rewarded again and again with beautiful views of the Moselle Valley and the wine towns Zell (Mosel) and Pünderich.
Start: Parking lot below Marienburg – follow the left path uphill towards Zell (Barl) - a short section through the Zell-Barl residential area and straight ahead into the forest and through the vineyards. Behind the senior center, turn sharply left down the steps - keep right and continue through the vineyards to the main road - a short distance along the main road - diagonally opposite turn left onto the hiking trail - continue following the forest path to the viewpoint "Schwanzhütte" - from there, go straight down the path to the starting point.

Refreshments at the old ferry house (in good weather: Easter to October, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 12-6 pm)
From Alf, follow the B53 towards Zell-Kaimt and turn right towards Zell-Barl. Next opportunity turn right to Marienburg
Parking options below Marienburg
by train to Bullay and then by bus line 721 to the Zell-Barl hospital (entry onto the Horgar Path below the hospital) or by bus line 720 to Pünderich and from there take the ferry across to the other side of the Moselle. Here is the link to the Pünderich ferry.
