A charming children's film about family and nature: A young girl wants to save a forest. This sensitive children's film from Estonia has won several awards.

Just at Christmas, Eia's (Paula Rits) busy parents – he is an architect, she is a ballerina – have no time for her. The ten-year-old therefore has to stay at the farm of a supposed acquaintance of her parents named Ott (Jaan Rekkor) for the holidays. However, for strange reasons, he does not want to spend time with Eia, so she wanders through the beautiful forest behind the farm with her peer Ats (Siim Oskar Ots) and the older Jete (Liis Lemsalu) to search for animals to draw. Soon they have to find out: The greedy new owner of the forest (Juhan Ulfsak) wants to clear the pristine piece of nature. But could it be that Eia has discovered a so-called magic owl that has returned after many years and makes the forest worth protecting? Children are introduced to the themes of nature conservation and family separation in this Estonian film from 2018 in a simple, calm manner. At the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audiences "Schlingel" in Chemnitz 2019, the film won three awards, including Paula Rits receiving the prize for best young actress.
