Altlay

Dreamlike loops around Altlay

Altlay is located in one of the most romantic side valleys of the Mosel, surrounded by beautiful woodlands that invite you to take relaxing walks. The village got its name from the mining industry, which has shaped the village and its inhabitants over the years. In dialect, a "Lay" is a roof slate. Today, the slate is still mined in Altlay. Discover the parish church of St. Barbara and the Nils Müller guesthouse, one of the oldest houses in the village, on a tour of the village.
