The Wine Knowledge Trail Brauneberg is a circular hiking trail and ideal for an informative walk. At 15 stations, the work in the vineyard and viticulture is excellently described.

The Wine Knowledge Trail in Brauneberg on the Moselle is a very nice addition for any Moselle holiday. The Moselle without vineyards, winemakers, or wine is unimaginable. The new circular hiking trail is located on the outskirts of Brauneberg and is easy to reach. The route runs – naturally – through the vineyards. On the tour, the hiker always has the Moselle in view. Along the path, there are 15 stations where interesting and informative facts about viticulture are presented. These include the development of vineyard working equipment, plant protection, training systems, and the various tasks in the vineyard—from pruning, tying, plowing, to harvesting. In the second half of the trail, with harvest equipment, pressing, and – as a crowning conclusion – a bottling station, the cycle from grape to bottling is completed.

General information

Directions

The circular route starts on the outskirts of Brauneberg, in the district of Filzen. The Wine Knowledge Trail runs exclusively on vineyard paths. At the beginning, it goes to the left on flat terrain. We follow the signs and the total of 15 stations along the path. The route profile resembles a square, with a slight deviation into the higher vineyards. After almost 1.4 kilometers, the end point of the route is reached at Brunnenstraße.
