The around 480 km long Velo Route SaarLorLux runs through the three-country-border (Dreiländereck) of Germany, France and Luxembourg.
The Velo Route SaarLorLux connects the cities Saarbrücken, Trier and Luxembourg in one large circular tour. It includes the valleys of the Saar, Moselle and Sauer, and runs across the heights of the watersheds to reach the valleys. The Rhineland-Palatinate route sections Saarhölzbach - Saarburg - Konz - Trier - Igel - Wasserbilligerbrück - Metzdorf are exclusively river cycle paths of the Moselle and Saar.
Profile: Mainly a level route along rivers, with some sections with light ascents.
Course: Entirely on forest and farm roads and roads through towns. No roads outside of towns without cycle lanes.
Surface quality: Entirely asphalt and concrete surfaces.

We recommend that you cycle the French part from Metz to Thionville along the newly developed cycle path along the Moselle or through the Cannertal.

Trier: Trier can be reached via the A 602 or the B 51/B 49.
Saarbrücken: Saarbrücken can be reached via the A 1/E 422 from the north. From Karlsruhe, Saarbrücken can be reached via the A 8. It crosses the A 6 at the Neunkircher Kreuz intersection and the A 1 at the Saarbrücker Kreuz intersection.
Luxembourg: Luxembourg can be reached via the A 64 from Trier.
There are various (paid) parking options in the cities of Trier, Saarbrücken and Luxembourg.
The railway lines run along the Saar and Moselle and parallel to the cycle route.
