Your route today takes you along the Moselle Cycle Path from Bernkastel-Kues to Traben-Trarbach and then back from there by boat to Traben-Trarbach.

You start in Bernkastel-Kues at the Moselle parking area, from where you follow the Moselle Cycle Path downstream.

Passing Graach, you cycle to Zeltingen-Rachtig. Shortly before the town, you will see a sundial in the middle of the vineyards that gives its name to the wine location "Zeltinger Sonnenuhr." A detour through the town center with its old manor houses and half-timbered houses is worthwhile before the cycle path leads you closer to the riverbank. Opposite Rachtig lies the former Cistercian nuns' monastery Machern, within whose walls today you can find, among other things, a museum, a wine cabinet, and a monastery brewery with a tap room.

The Moselle Cycle Path continues through the wine villages of Erden, Lößnich, and Kindel. Away from the road, you reach Wolf, from where the path continues along the federal highway on its own lane and soon arrives at the Art Nouveau town of Traben-Trarbach. High above the town lies the Grevenburg castle ruin, but Traben-Trarbach also has much else to offer: numerous Art Nouveau buildings and the museum row with the Middle Moselle Museum or Buddha Museum invite visits.

Now it is up to you whether to stay in Traben-Trarbach and then take the return trip by boat, or to extend your bike ride a bit longer. The additional loop via the wine village of Reil offers another 20 kilometers; you will cycle another 40 kilometers if you go as far as Zell (Moselle) and then back to Traben-Trarbach to later start the return trip to the starting point. Alternatively, you can, of course, cycle back upstream on the left Moselle side to Bernkastel-Kues.
