The Saar-Leuktal-Panorama dream loop surprises with varied views of the town of Saarburg, the Saar Valley, the Saargau, or towards Kahren with the Hoste Tower. Due to a driven hunt in the hunting district of Trassem, the Saar-Leuktal-Panorama dream loop as well as other forest paths will be closed all day on Saturday, 29.11.2025.
The starting point of the Saar-Leuktal-Panorama dream loop is located at the entrance to the village of Trassem by the renatured Leukbach. The path leads through an idyllic meadow area over the district of Perdenbach, with a short detour to the Josef Chapel, past a former mill towards the Kreuzkapelle. Ascending, the dream loop leads over a ridge path to the Kruterberg. From the Kruterberg, the hike first follows a hollow way and later the European long-distance trail E3 to the next viewpoint with distant views over the Hunsrück and magnificent valley views of the Saar and the villages of Krutweiler and Serrig, the first wine-growing village downstream on the Saar. Continuing along the E3, past the Klein Heide shelter (290 m) and over varied mixed forest and meadow paths as well as orchard meadows, the trail leads over the old Roman road to the Preußische Kupp. Going downhill, it returns with wide views to the starting point in the Leuk Valley.
