"Cross-route" par excellence with fantastic views.

Where the Rhine and the Mosel approach each other in a stretched triangle, this cycle route presents an impressive scenic cross-section from the Rhine valley via the Hunsrück to the Mosel valley and further to the Eifel. This route is a small altitude challenge but offers fantastic views as a reward.

The Rhine-Mosel-Eifel cycle route is a "cross-route" par excellence: from the front Eifel across to the Mosel and then to the Rhine, the route has to descend from the Eifel heights down to the Mosel valley, immediately steeply climb to the foothills of the Hunsrück heights and then speedily descend again into the Rhine valley. Contrasting landscape scenes are offered such as wide views over Eifel and Hunsrück, steep vineyards on the Mosel or a lovely side valley towards the Rhine.

The Rhine-Mosel-Eifel cycle route connects three cycle routes. It starts on the Maifeld cycle route, leads on the Mosel cycle route, and ends on the Rhine cycle route.

General information

Directions

The Rhine-Mosel-Eifel cycle route starts in Kerben on the Maifeld cycle route and then runs up to Minkelfeld. From there it leads over Oberdorfstraße to Lonnig and via Bergstraße further to Kobern-Gondorf. There it crosses the bridge to the other side of the Mosel, the cycle path then runs alongside the Mosel to Dieblich. In Dieblich it goes up the hill and along the street "Zum Thiesenhof", past the Dieblich-Berg farmyards and continues on the Mosel cycle route to Mariaroth. From there it runs along the street "Am Alten Kloster" to Waldesch onto the Rhine cycle route. From there it goes through the Mühlental further to Rhens into the street "Am Viehtor." Now it goes to the right into "Bramleystraße", left up onto "Hochstraße" and then turns right into Langstraße. Follow this street to the riverbank.
