Scenic, somewhat challenging circular hiking route around Nittel.

On this somewhat challenging hike, you will be rewarded with various panoramic views far into Luxembourg.

Directions

The route starts in the village center and goes uphill through the village and the vineyards below the impressive Muschelkalk rock massif and further up past large meadows and fields over the Nittel rock plateau. On the shady forest path through the little forest "Reinbüsch" and past more arable land, you reach the district Windhof. You pass the Nittel panorama hut, walk a short stretch through the forest and then return to the village. Time and again you will be rewarded with various panoramic views far into Luxembourg.

The hike is continuously marked with the sign "N1".

Wine hut in Leiterchen: Here stands a vending machine in the middle of the vineyards, which offers a selection of chilled wine and sparkling wine 24/7. Card payment!

Getting there

You can reach Nittel from Perl or Konz via the B 419. From Saarburg, you reach Nittel via the L 135.

Parking

Some free parking spaces are available at the sports field in Nittel (on the L 135 in the district Windhof).

Public transit

DB line Trier - Perl with RB 82 to Nittel station.
