Over hill and dale

For your own safety and for the protection of flora and fauna, please always stay on the marked paths. The hiking trail has some steep, difficult, and slippery sections during rain or winter weather. Therefore, sure-footedness and good physical condition are absolute prerequisites.

NOTE:

We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting groups on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we might not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a path closure or detour, please observe the instructions for your own safety.

Danger situations:

In an emergency, quick help is needed. And although mobile phones can send GPS signals, at the classic rescue points it often goes fastest. These are located at spots that are easily accessible for rescue vehicles. Remember the points with green signs and a white cross. In an emergency, return there and give the number on the sign when calling for help. This way, rescue forces will know where to find you.

- Sturdy and comfortable footwear.

- Clothing adapted to the weather, if necessary in multiple layers.

- Backpack with provisions: enough to drink and, if necessary, food, as there are not always places to stop or buy along the route or they might be closed.

- Depending on the weather, sun or rain protection, as well as mosquito/tick protection.

During the cherry blossom in spring, this path is an experience for the senses. 

Coming from Koblenz, follow the B 49 towards Cochem. Turn left onto the B 411, after about 400 m turn right onto the K 68 and follow it until you see the Salzheck sign. Parking is on the left side. 

Free parking is available at the Salzheck starting point. 

Accessible by bus - sustainable travel using public transport.

Bus line 31: From Koblenz to the Senior Center stop, platform B, Dieblich, about 300 m walk to the starting point
