Mountain bike route through the rustic wine villages in the Zellerland and the famous vineyard "Zeller Schwarze Katz".
On this route through the forests and vineyard "Zeller Schwarze Katz", you can expect wonderful views over the Mosel Valley. It goes up to the Collis Tower - from there you enjoy a magnificent view of the town of Zell, with its districts Merl, Kaimt, and Barl.
The route starts at the market square in Zell (Mosel) - from the "Zeller Schwarze Katz" fountain it goes along the Mosel cycle path to Zell-Merl - at the church "St. Michael" in Merl uphill through the Mühltal - past the Babilonsmühle and turn right at the next opportunity - cross the Rotheschbach and continue downhill following the path - here follow the left path - then at the next opportunity turn right uphill towards Löhnshöhe - before Löhnshöhe turn right and continue uphill - now it goes gently through the vineyards towards Zell (Mosel) to the Collis Tower - from there follow the path further downhill through the forest towards Marienhöhe - the path leads through the Altlayer Bachtal, past Breuers Mühle and through the forest back to the town of Zell (Mosel)
The route is not specially marked.
Cycling equipment required
Refreshment stop at Collis Tower, May to October, Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Also open when the blue flag is flying.
Cross over the B53 to the other side of the Mosel (Bullay double-decker bridge or Zell-Kaimt car bridge). Keep straight ahead until the height of Zell (Mosel) town hall

Free parking options in the streets "Brandenburg" and "Am Bahnhof"
By train to Bullay and then with lines 720, 721 or 750 to Zell (Mosel) Lindenplatz (Note: bicycles are not allowed on the bus).
Alternatively: via the Mosel cycle path by bike to Zell (Mosel) - approx. 6 km
