Almost 10 kilometres long round tour on the Zeltinger Berg, which can be hiked all year round. Small ascents make this tour ideal for families with children.

On the circular trail you can take a leisurely three-hour hike on comfortable roads. Gentle climbs make this tour also suitable for families.Insights into the hiking tour:Starting point of the hike is the Siebenborn Monastery - a former Cistercian monastery and a former monastery mill. The Hüttenkopf is a wooded hill at the lower reaches of the Lieserbach stream, which was enclosed by the Moselle river ages ago. On its southern slope, viticulture has been practised since Roman times, as the discovery of a Roman wine press proves. This Roman wine press house can be visited on the outskirts of Noviand. A hike on the Hüttenkopfweg with its low gradients and wooded passages is also pleasant on hot days. It offers views of the Liesertal and distant views of the Moselle and Hunsrück heights. There are no refreshment stops along the way, but at the start and end point: the Siebenborn Monastery. General information

Directions

From the car park at the Klosterhof Siebenborn - past a rest area and beach volleyball field - you follow the "Bahnhofstraße" (K 55) towards the centre of Noviand. It is only a few metres along the "Bernkasteler Straße" until you reach the street "Zum Hüttenkopf". Follow this road, even if it makes a right turn over a bridge. At a big tree the "Waldstraße" leads you into the forest. Now you walk along a comfortable forest path for about 3 kilometers until a district road (K 58) with a small parking lot announces the way back around the Hüttenkopf. Turn left and continue for about 500 meters along the edge of the forest. Then turn left again diagonally into the forest and soon you will pass a small clearing. At the next turning, keep to the right and then straight on until you reach a fenced private area with a small hut. Here you turn left and continue straight on for about 3 kilometres along the edge of the forest and along the vineyards. Then you follow a small section through the forest again, until you reach a tarred road and a rest area with benches. Here you can enjoy the view: "At the feet" of Noviand with the yellow painted parish church of St. Lambert: in the distance the Paulskirche to the east - and the sundial of Maring-Noviand to the south. The descent takes place directly at the resting benches, further on to the Spießbratenhütte and into Noviand. If you like, you can also visit the Roman wine press house on the outskirts of the village. Otherwise the way back leads you in town on the same way back to the monastery Siebenborn.
