General information

Directions

Starting from the parking lot at the sports field in Siebenborn (the twin municipality of Maring-Noviand), the path leads through the Lieser valley. Passing the sports field, continue onto "Wittlicher Straße." Over the "Trierer Straße" and across the Lieserbach bridge, you will reach "Moselstraße" in the district of Maring. At the height of the playground, turn left into "Weingartenstraße" and then right into the vineyards of Honigberg. The path continues through the vineyards towards the Moselle. At one point—already above the first houses of the Moselle municipality of Lieser—you can closely experience the characteristic features of the typical Moselle slate, as the rock juts right into the path here. Above Lieser Castle, now a luxury hotel, at the end of the vineyard path, turn left and gain more height along a residential area. Above the vineyards, walk past the Lieser sports field and then always along the edge of the forest. Before descending back to Siebenborn, there is a nice rest area at the Maring shelter. Shortly before the Klosterhof Siebenborn and the Klostermühle (a place to stop for refreshments), a water treading pool invites you to cool your feet.

Views over the Lieser valley, the village of Maring-Noviand, and far into the Moselle valley make the route an exciting experience.

Safety Guidelines

Nice wide paths, all very clear. "Normal" hiking or trekking shoes are sufficient.

Tip
