Circular hike on vineyard and forest paths. Round route from the Mosel into the Hunsrück landscape.

In Wintrich, Großer Herrgott and Wintricher Ohligsbegr count among the best vineyard sites. The namesake of this hike is the "Großer Herrgott" - he watches over the Mosel bend at Wintrich and Piesport and is somewhat reminiscent of the Christ statue on Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro.

Insights into the hiking tour:

The hike leads over vineyard paths up to the landmark of Wintrich, the aforementioned "Großer Herrgott". From up here, there is a wonderful view of the Mosel valley and the Wintrich dam. There are also benches and seats at the viewpoint for resting.

The further route goes through the Rondelbachtal, where wild daffodils (Narcissus pseudonarcissus) bloom in spring. The protected plant is very rare and endangered. It only occurs in the Hunsrück, in the North Rhine-Westphalian Eifel and in the Vosges and only thrives where little or no fertilization is done.

The highest point is reached at Kasholz and a former windmill. The end of the tour is in the beautiful wine village of Wintrich.

There are no food stops along the way - but in Wintrich (inns and wineries/taverns).
