The Heideküppchen Loop Trail, which is about six kilometers long, runs around the town of Moselkern. Along the way, there are frequent views of the Elz Valley and the Moselle.
The Heideküppchen Loop Trail winds through the Moselle village of Moselkern and its surroundings. Along the way, you’ll enjoy interesting views of the Moselle and Elzbach valleys. The parking lot at the small café is the ideal starting point for the hike. Another starting point is located near the train station. The trail runs partly along paved sections beside the Elzbach stream and leads to the popular “Heideküppchen” lookout point.
Here, beautiful views meet physical activity. With a duration of about 2 hours and 278 meters of elevation gain, the loop hike is somewhat more demanding physically but easily manageable.

Directions
The route starts at the parking lot of the small café, located on Moselstraße. The trail initially runs along the Elzbach on a paved road before continuing on natural trails. The trail then winds uphill through the forest until you reach the Heideküppchen, which gives the tour its name. This spot is perfect for a break and a snack. Afterward, the trail descends steadily back down into the village to the starting point.
