A hike for the whole family!
The Family Alliance Roman Wine Route and the Youth Office Schweich, in cooperation with the Tourist Information Roman Wine Route, offer families the opportunity to spend an exciting, eventful day on a family-friendly hiking trail in the Schweich municipal association.
On the 8 km shortened hiking route "Extratour Zitronenkrämerkreuz", marked with "Family Scavenger Hunt", families find numerous interesting points tracing the Romans and the lemon merchant, equipped with quiz questions. The questions for the scavenger hunt can be downloaded free of charge from the Youth Office Schweich website and the Family Alliance Roman Wine Route website.
After successfully completing the scavenger hunt, the completed sheets can be sent by email or post to the Youth Office Schweich. The achieved score is evaluated by the staff of the Youth Office and a high score list is created.
In this high score list, families are listed under their "nickname" with the points achieved.
The winning families receive a small surprise.
The completed sheets can be submitted by post or email to the Youth Office Schweich until August 23, 2020.
We wish you and your family a lot of fun and relaxation on the hike, as well as much success with the scavenger hunt.

In addition, the gastronomy offerings in the local community of Mehring leave nothing to be desired for young and old alike.
Mehring or Pölich can be easily reached by car via the B 53. Within the town, the way to the Huxlay Plateau/Finnenbahn is also very well signposted.
There are enough parking spaces on the Huxlay Plateau/Finnenbahn.
You can reach the local communities Mehring and Pölich very well by bus line 220 from Schweich or Trier or Neumagen (hourly).
From Mehring or Pölich, however, you will have to take a short walk (about 2 km) to the Huxlay Plateau to get to the start-finish portal of the family hike.
