Starting in Moselkern, the Elztalblick Loop Trail stretches for about 5.3 km through a varied landscape offering beautiful views of the Elz Valley. You can also take a detour to Eltz Castle (+4 km).
The parking lot at the small café in Moselkern is the ideal starting point. The route winds through peaceful natural areas and offers impressive viewpoints along the way. If you’d like to extend the hike, you can plan a detour to Eltz Castle, bringing the total distance to 9.3 km.
Taking about 2 hours (3 hours with the detour) and featuring minimal elevation gain, the tour is easy to complete and offers a great combination of exercise and nature.
The route is signposted.
The tour begins in the town of Moselkern at the parking lot of the small café. After a short stretch through town, the trail leaves the town behind and heads into the forest. After a brief climb, the first views open up. The trail winds through the forest without any further major climbs to the Eltzbach stream and the Ringelsteiner Mill. Here, you can also take a detour to the romantic Eltz Castle. Shortly after that, the trail follows a paved road past the former wool factory back to the starting point.

Stay on the marked trails. This helps protect wildlife and vegetation and keeps you from falling or getting lost.
Watch out for slippery surfaces, especially during or after rain
