The new Creation Path starts at the info spa guest center on the Kueser Plateau and runs mostly through the newly designed spa park with its numerous attractions.
The hiking portfolio of the Moselle town Bernkastel-Kues has grown by one attraction. The new circular hiking trail “Creation Path Middle Moselle” on the Kueser Plateau is a successful combination of varied insights, attractive views like the Skywalk or the “most beautiful wine view,” and contemplative thoughts. The path begins at the spa guest center and then runs mostly on flat terrain on the Kueser Plateau, primarily through the spa park. There are a total of 12 pillars on the circular hiking trail. They provide information about water, the clinics, buildings such as Landshut Castle, the Cusanusstift, or the Mülheim Bridge. Wine view, life and work, or Highland cattle are also included on the program. On a circular path of 6.4 km around the "Kueser Plateau," where four rehabilitation clinics are located, a total of 12 pillars have been erected, which contain rotatable three-sided metal bodies with inscriptions in the upper part.
The starting point is the spa guest center on the Kueser Plateau. From the parking lot, you reach the first information pillar dedicated to the theme of water, fittingly located by a small lake. After a few minutes on flat paths, you come to the second pillar, which provides information about the healing possibilities of the four Median clinics. Before reaching the new attraction, the Skywalk, you pass two more pillars. One is dedicated to the Cusanusstift in Kues, the other illuminates the history of Landshut Castle, which can be admired on the opposite Moselle bank, high above Bernkastel. The Skywalk is reached via a well-walkable forest path. Afterwards, the path runs between the forest and the vineyards, high above Kues. The next station is devoted to life and work, while the sixth pillar corresponds to the award-winning “Weinsicht” viewpoint, high above the wine village of Lieser. After passing the seventh pillar, dedicated to the Mülheim Bridge, the route continues on wide forest paths past the “Insect Hotel” and “Quiet Forest” pillars to the Cusanus estate. The eleventh pillar shortly thereafter provides information about Highland cattle and sustainable nutrition. Before the circular route ends, the last pillar awaits with information on daycare centers.
The hiking route requires no special instructions.
“Normal” clothing is completely sufficient.
Don’t forget your camera – the views are fantastic!
