Follow the Kyll River through the low mountain landscape of the southern Eifel with its unique natural scenery all the way to its confluence with the Moselle.
A varied cycle path along the Kyll River through the low mountain landscape of the southern Eifel.
Start: From your accommodation, cycle to Trier main station and take the train from there to Bitburg-Erdorf.
On the Kyll Valley cycle path, cycle southwards from Bitburg-Erdorf station, passing Hüttingen and Philippsheim to Speicher (station).
From Speicher (station), continue through the unspoiled Kyll Valley, which takes on the character of a floodplain landscape the further downstream you cycle. After about 30 kilometers, you will finally reach the municipality of Kordel.
From Kordel, it is now only a few more kilometers to the city limits of Trier-Ehrang. In Ehrang, cross the railway tracks and then cycle into Servaisstraße. Leave it again after a few meters to the left behind the petrol station and follow the Moselle cycle path, which takes you via Pfalzel back to Germany's oldest city.
Note: You reach the actual town of Speicher, with its 2000-year-old pottery tradition, via the L 39 – caution, steep climb!
Tip: From the station in Bitburg-Erdorf, it is about 4 kilometers to Bitburg town, which is world-famous mainly due to the brewery located here.
With Deutsche Bahn, you can travel comfortably from Trier main station to Bitburg-Erdorf.
