Feast of the Möhnenverein Mittelstrimmig
The Möhnenverein Mittelstrimmig, with its approximately 70 members, is one of the smaller
clubs of the Strimmiger Berg. However, since the members are all Möhnen (i.e., women),
the number of members is quite significant. The club includes members of all ages,
ranging from the youngest member at 25 years old to the oldest member at 86 years old.
The first slaughter festival took place in 2009 and received good support from the beginning. All
ingredients are regional and are lovingly prepared by the club itself in the community center.
The pork knuckle platter with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes is very popular. Also among the classics
is the meat platter with bratwurst, liver dumplings, well meat, blood sausage, and liver sausage. Of course,
draft beer and wheat beer go perfectly with the hearty meal, but Aperol Spritz,
wine, and of course non-alcoholic beverages must not be missed.
This year, the slaughter festival will take place on October 16, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM in the community center of Mittelstrimmig.
