Victory Festival of the Möhnenverein Mittelstrimmig
The Möhnenverein Mittelstrimmig, with around 70 members, is one of the smaller
associations of the Strimmiger Berg. However, since the members consist solely of Möhnen (i.e., women),
the number of members is quite notable. The club also represents every age
group, with the youngest member being 25 years old and the oldest member being 86 years old,
everyone is included.
The first slaughter festival took place in 2009 and received good reception from the very beginning. All
ingredients are local and are lovingly prepared in-house at the community center.
The ham hock platter with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes is very popular. Among the classics is
the slaughter platter with sausage, liver dumplings, well meat, blood sausage, and liver sausage. Of course,
draft beer and wheat beer pair excellently with this hearty meal, but Aperol Spritz,
wine, and of course non-alcoholic beverages are also not to be missed.
This year, the slaughter festival will take place on October 16, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the community center Mittelstrimmig.
