Vera Brandes is a young, ambitious concert promoter in the 1970s. Against the resistance of her parents and the prejudices of a male-dominated music industry, the teenager has managed to bring some of the biggest names in music to Germany by the age of 18. Her latest project: a concert by the virtuoso jazz pianist Keith Jarrett on January 24, 1975, at the Cologne Opera. But as the big night approaches, events spiral out of control. Technical failures and logistical challenges threaten to turn the concert into a fiasco. Vera must summon all her skills and courage to avert disaster and save the concert that will later go down in history as "The Köln Concert."

“Köln 75” is based on the true events surrounding the legendary concert by Keith Jarrett. The sold-out concert in front of 1400 people is considered a milestone in music history and was released as "The Köln Concert", which with over 4 million copies sold became the most successful solo jazz album of all time. The film celebrates the 50th anniversary of this historic event and shines a light on the lesser-known but fascinating story behind the scenes.
