After years of silence, the members of a fractured family reunite for a bittersweet encounter in California. For the first time in a long while, aging Norwegian director Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård) spends time again with his two adult children, Nora (Renate Reinsve) and Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas). The two sisters have chosen completely different life paths: while Nora has always prioritized her acting career, the younger Agnes opted for a life with family, a steady job, and a child. The occasion for the reunion is the upcoming release of a screenplay by Gustav. Amid creative ambitions, unspoken wounds, and tender approaches, a family drama unfolds about memory, identity, and the need for connection.
