Hike from Saarburg with a culinary highlight in Trassem and a visit to the Forellenhof Rosengarten.
This moderate route with slight inclines leads from Saarburg over the access path of the dream loop "Saar-Leuktal-Panorama" to Trassem. In a stylishly renovated farmhouse from 1901, the Café Trasse Belge is located in the former barn. In addition to a small delicatessen shop with Belgian products, small dishes, coffee and cakes as well as various regional wines and Belgian beers are offered here. After this culinary highlight, continue hiking to the Forellenhof Rosengarten in Leukbachtal. In the farm shop, you will find a large selection of fresh and smoked fish as well as fish pâtés, salads, fish soups and whole fish platters, all made according to the best artisanal tradition.

Directions
The hike begins at the parking lot opposite the entrance to the REWE supermarket. First, you go through an underpass. At the end, turn left into Friedensaue Street. Now follow the signs "Zuweg Moselsteig" and walk past the Leukbachtal campsite to Trassem. Once you reach Mühlenstraße, the path continues through Brückenstraße and Kirchstraße. At the end of Kirchstraße, turn right onto Saarburger Straße and at the next intersection turn left into Kehrbachstraße.
At Kehrbachstraße 12 is the Café Trasse Belge in a tastefully renovated farmhouse from 1901, which was created from a former barn. In addition to a small delicatessen shop for Belgian products, small dishes, coffee and cakes, as well as various regional wines and Belgian beers are offered here.
The café is not open daily. Current opening hours can be found at www.trasse-belge.de.
After this culinary highlight, continue hiking to the Forellengut Rosengarten in Leukbachtal. To do this, go back to Saarburger Straße and turn onto B 407 towards Kirf/Meurich. After about 100 m, turn left into Leuktalstraße. Walk about 1 km on this road before you can see the Forellengut Rosengarten in Leukbachtal. In the farm shop, you will find a wide range of fresh and smoked fish as well as fish pâtés, salads, fish soups and whole fish platters, all made according to the best artisanal tradition.
The Forellengut is not open daily. Current opening hours can be found at www.fisch-rosengarten.de
The return route is the same as the outbound route.
Safety Guidelines
Please note that this hiking trail is not a certified premium trail and there is no continuous signage of the route. Furthermore, the path partly runs on paved forest roads and not on narrow paths.

Getting there
You can reach Saarburg from Trier or Saarbrücken via the B 51. From Hermeskeil or Perl, the B 407 leads into the town of Saarburg.
Parking
Free and all-day parking is available at the starting point, near the swimming pool/Am Cityparkplatz.
Additional paid parking spaces are available directly at the Saarburg station.
Public transit
DB route Trier - Saarbrücken to Saarburg station.
